Baler accommodations: Luxury, Mid-range, Budget

Baler has been a go-to place for wave riders, and the coolest spots to stay consists of luxury hotels and Instagram-worthy accommodations. If you are not sure where to stay, here are three places worth checking out:

Luxury: Costa Pacifica Baler

Location: Sabang Beach
Price per night: starts at Php 8,500 (good for two with breakfast)

  •  24-hour reception and security
  • Free shuttle service to/from the bus terminal
  • Outdoor pool for both kids and adults (with free floaties too!)
  • Convenient location

  • More expensive than the other types of accommodation
  • Hotel meals are pricey – if you are on a budget, there are a lot of restaurant options around Sabang that are worth trying out 🙂

Tip: The staff does rounds in the afternoon to give away free snacks – make sure you try these yummy treats!

Mid-range: Aliya Surf Camp

Location: Sabang Beach
Price per night: Php 2,688 (good for two with set breakfast)

  • 24-hour reception and security
  • Infinity pool
  • They have a music room where music festivals are held.
  • Aliya Surf Camp serves affordable and delicious food.
  • In-house surf shop that carries brands such as Roxy, Rip Curl and Vans.

  • A little hard to hail a tricycle in Aliya’s area since their location is not in the middle of Sabang Beach but the friendly staff will be happy to assist you to get a ride 🙂

Tip: Book your surf lessons with Aliya Surf Camp, rates start at Php 350 per person (one hour board rental and surf instructor).

Budget: North Shore Surf Camp

Location: Buhangin Beach, Sabang Baler
Price per night: Php 2,000 (good for two with set breakfast)

  • The cheapest among the three types of accommodations.
  • Since North Shore is located in the far side of the beach, the location is perfect for those who want a more cozy and laid back environment.
  • Small dipping pool
  • The staff and the owner, Jig, are SUPER friendly and hospitable! They would always check on guests and Jig would come over and chit chat once in awhile.
  • North Shore also has the nicest surf instructors! Special mention to Jerome and Epong 🙂

  • North Shore is located in a secluded area around 15 minutes away from Sabang Beach and most tricycle drivers are hesitant to drop off guests in this place since the road is not paved. But don’t fret because you can contact North Shore to have their trusty driver pick you up. 🙂
  • No nearby restaurants so always inform the staff if you want to eat out so that they can arrange your transportation.
  • Better to stock up on water/snacks because their store has a limited supply of food and drinks.
  • There is only one channel in their TV.

Tip: The staff usually does bonfires –  don’t miss out on this bonding session!

There are more picture-perfect places to stay in Baler from hotels to transient inns to homestays – make sure to choose the right one for you and your budget. Happy hunting! 🙂
