Bangkok Hangover Tour

If you’re still hungover from the hit Hollywood movie “The Hangover Part II”, then head over to Bangkok and experience the uber crazy and epic night firsthand. Be part of the “Wolf Pack” and explore Bangkok’s one of a kind nightlife with the Bangkok Hangover Tour.

The Bangkok Hangover Tour consists of a visit to the bars where some of the scenes from the movie were filmed and other popular night venues in the city. The tour costs THB 2200 (Php 3,210) per person and this includes entrance fees, hotel pick-up/ drop-off and free drinks. PLUS to really feel that you are part of the “Wolf Pack”, guests will get a temporary Mike Tyson face tattoo! 😛

What’s great about this private tour is that the organizers will provide you with an English speaking guide who will accompany you in all the bars and make sure that you are safe from any scammers or tourist rip-off fees.

Check out the luxe mini van ride for the tour! (Sorry I couldn’t get a shot of the neon lights inside the van since we were with other tourists. 🙁 )

First stop: Tilac Bar

The adventure starts at Tilac Bar in Soi Cowboy, one of the major nightlife areas in Thailand. Tilac Bar is the most popular go-go bar in Soi Cowboy because of its large seating capacity and affordable drinks. In most of the bars you will visit, you will be required to buy at least one drink which will serve as your entrance fee. A bottle of beer in Tilac Bar costs THB 130 (PHP 189)which is the cheapest among the bars you will visit.

We were not allowed to take photos inside all of the night clubs, so in Tilac Bar, my best snapshot would be the drinks we ordered with a sneak peek of what’s going on inside. Here’s the link to the actual movie scene in Hangover 2 where the go-go girls promised the gang “a night they’ll never remember!”

Second stop: Nana Plaza

Nana Plaza is another well-known red-light district in Bangkok. It is a three-storey building filled with ladyboy bars and nightclubs.

The Nana Plaza tour also included a stopover inside Spankys Bar, an ass-spankin’ nightclub. Don’t be surprised if a go-go girl suddenly hits you with a bat made out of foam as you walk inside the bar – it’s not called “Spankys for nothing! 😀

You will also be able to watch an entertainment show featuring ladyboys (transsexuals) in one of Nana Plaza’s bars.

Tall, toned body and pretty faces – they can pass off as beauty queens! If you want to take a photo with one of the ladyboys, you will have to pay an additional THB 500 (Php 730).

Third stop: Pat Pong

Pat Pong is probably the most famous of the three red-light districts in Bangkok because of the adult entertainment it offers. This is the only place where you can watch live adult acts. Aside from Pat Pong’s famous ping pong show (Thai girls shooting ping pong balls using the most unexpected body part – Google for more info! haha) , a live Muay Thai boxing match can also be viewed inside Pink Panther Bar. A ticket to a Thai boxing show at the Rajadamnern Stadium can cost up THB 2000 (Php 2,914) per person but at Pink Panther, you can watch a real Thai boxing match with no entrance fee. You only need to buy at least one drink which will cost you around THB 200 (Php 291).

Also, at Pink Panther, you are allowed to take photos and videos of the Muay Thai fighters in action.

Fourth and final stop: Skybar at Lebua, State Tower

The Skybar is located at the 64th floor of Lebua, State Tower. It’s an open bar which offers one of the best views in the city. Too bad we were not able to visit this place since it was raining during the latter part of our Hangover Tour. 🙁 Anyway, see the beauty of the Skybar in this clip from the movie.

P.S. Hotel accommodations are not included in the tour, but if you want to complete your Hangover experience, book yourself a room inside The Lebua. They have a lavish, three-bedroom Hangover Suite at the top of the State Tower.

The tour ends around midnight and you have the option to return to your hotel or be dropped off at a bar for another round of late night partying. 🙂

The Bangkok Hangover Tour is a safe and fun way of experiencing Bangkok’s intriguing nightlife. Though not my cup of tea, I definitely enjoyed this unforgettable night. I highly recommend this tour when you visit Bangkok and have one amazing night to remember… or as the go-go girls said, “have one crazy night you’ll never remember!” =)
