Extreme activities in Cebu

Cebu will always be one of my favorite places outside of the Metro. I have been here 5 times already. I’ve seen the historical sights – from the infamous Magellan’s Cross to Fort San Pedro, munched on the “must taste”, “only in Cebu” cuisine – lechon, dried mangoes and otap and I’ve danced to Sinulog’s beat a couple of times. I can even paint the Sto. Niño Basilica with my eyes closed!

This is my 6th visit and I am ready to spice things up with a little “teambuilding style” action – for two! =)

Round 1 – Tower Zip and SkyLift

Location: Crown Regency Hotel & Towers

Take your zipline experience up a notch and zip between two buildings 45 stories high, on the world’s first Urban Sky Zip! Do the Superman, Spiderman or just hang normally as you go across a 150 meters long wire while taking in the majestic views of the city. I didn’t want to lose this first round to Pau so the daredevil in me opted to zip ala Spiderman – and I can tell you, it was an exhilarating 8 seconds of literally hanging around!

That’s an awesome way to get a great view of the famous Fuente Osmeña!
Trying my best to look calm for the camera (inside I was so nervous not being able to hold on to ANYTHING!)

Round 2 – Paramount Climbing Wall

Location: Crown Regency Hotel & Towers

Pump up your muscles and get ready to climb the world’s first climbing wall placed atop of a 40 storey building. The 32 feet vertigo wall will make you feel as if you are climbing on top of a mountain with the cold wind blowing against your face. We knew our muscles would get sore so I chose the easy wall while Pau chose the slightly harder wall. Let the pictures decide who won this round!

It was a close game, I won literally by an arm’s length!

Excuse my face – I won this round but I was dead tired after!

Time to take a rest after that serious leg work from climbing the wall! Just a quick tip: use your legs when you climb, your arms should not feel that sore after since the pressure should be on your legs.

One of the most popular attractions in Crown Regency Hotel & Towers is the Edge Coaster. It’s a two-seater coaster that goes around the edge of the 38th floor. For the brave ones, I recommend that you tilt your coaster to its maximum tilting limit – 55 degrees; and have a wild and memorable experience while enjoying a panoramic view of the city.

Watch out for my next blog post for Rounds 3 and 4!
